# Mixes

> A selected DJ mix every day at https://vincent.works/mixes/, played from SoundCloud and Mixcloud. An experiment by Vincent Venema (vincent.works), built on the same foundation as Play (https://vincent.works/play/).

- Random order: every visit starts on a different mix, and next and previous walk a fresh shuffle of the selection.
- The selection: Midland's "As decided by the people" playlists on SoundCloud and Mixcloud, read live, plus single mixes listed in mixes.json.
- Playback: through SoundCloud's and Mixcloud's own embedded players, with no login. When a mix ends, the next one starts.
- Controls: play and pause, previous and next mix, shuffle, seek, volume (SoundCloud only), keyboard shortcuts.
- Each mix shows its title, DJ or show, cover, date, genre tags from SoundCloud or Mixcloud, and a link to listen there.
- Appearance: near-black with chalk white, with a faint colour that drifts slowly in the background.
- Webcam: a switchable background of live webcam streams from around the world (YouTube), with the place and its local time.
